Dialisis
Chronic kidney disease is classified as a catastrophic illness, requiring high costs, involving complications, and posing life-threatening risks. In 2021, BPJS Kesehatan recorded 6.3 million healthcare visits related to kidney failure, incurring expenses of up to 6.5 trillion rupiah.
Through the 2022 Kedaireka Matching Fund program, in collaboration with PT. UMG IdeaLab Indonesia and a team from the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), an innovative hemodialysis system based on locally sourced materials was initiated to achieve national self-reliance in dialysis treatment.
The development of this hemodialysis system using local raw materials aims to reduce dialysis costs, lessen dependency on imports, and move towards national independence in kidney failure therapy in Indonesia. The innovation includes the HD Machine, Dialyzer Membrane, Dialysate Solution, and Preclinical Testing.
